Lisa Veizades began her family law career as a law clerk to the Honorable Rosemary Pfeiffer of the San Mateo Superior Court in 1988 and has practiced family law exclusively during her legal career. Like many of her colleagues who have practiced family law litigation for some time, Lisa saw the damaging effects of the court-based process on families, and in particular on children. This led her to look for a better way to resolve relationship conflicts. Lisa first trained as a mediator in 1989 and has worked to utilize more appropriate measures of dispute resolution in her practice ever since. Lisa holds a BA in Psychology from Stanford University, a JD from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California at Berkeley, and an MA in Psychology from New College of California. Lisa has also served as a workshop leader for Kids’ Turn and Kids in the Middle at the Family Services Agency of San Mateo. She is committed to helping families make the transition through divorce in a way that preserves relationships and keeps the focus on the needs of any children who may be involved. This commitment is what brings Lisa to the practice of Collaborative Law.
