Lisa R. Murray has practiced family law since 1989, assisting families through the difficult divorce process. Ms. Murray serves her community as a mediator, Collaborative Practice lawyer, litigator, court-appointed child advocate representing children in divorce cases, and Judge Pro Tempore. Ms. Murray also volunteers through various community-based organizations participating in programs which provide low cost legal assistance to individuals. Ms. Murray's focus on Collaborative Practice was borne from her experience of the destructive manner in which litigation separates parents' and children's lives.
Ms. Murray received her license to practice law in California in 1987 and in Hawaii in 2001. As a member of Collaborative Practice of San Mateo County, she has served on the training committee, and as a trainer. She is currently the chair of the public education committee and member of the executive committee. She is also a member of the Collaborative Practice San Francisco and of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, and serves as an active member of the Northern California Public Education Committee and Collaborative Practice California.
Ms. Murray has served as co-chair of the Family Law Section of the San Mateo County Bar Association, and as co-chair of the Children's Issues Committee - Bay Area, a Subcommittee of the Family Law Section of the California State Bar. Ms. Murray received her Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco in 1987, after graduating cum laude from Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree
